Requirements for Connecting to Library Services (from Home or Work): Java, JavaScript, and cookies are the default settings in your browser. If you have disabled them, you must change your configuration before attempting to connect to a database or My Account.

Recommended screen resolution is 1024 x 768.

Recommended Browsers

The library recommends using a modern browser capable of supporting current Web standards. While you can use some older browsers, use of a modern browser will help you take advantage of all the capabilities for sophisticated presentation and functionality found in powerful Web-based applications such as the library catalog.

How to Disable Content Advisor in Internet Explorer

If you cannot login to My Account (you click on a link and get kicked back to the login screen) often the problem is that the Content Advisor in Internet Explorer is Enabled. The following steps will allow you to disable the Internet Explorer Content Advisor.
  1. Open your Internet Explorer (IE) browser.
  2. From the gray menu bar click Tools.
  3. Choose Internet Options...
  4. Click on the gray Content tab.
  5. Under the section "Content Advisor" click on the "Disable" button .
  6. If you are prompted for a password, you will need to type the password. When you have successfully disabled the Content Advisor, you will see an "Enable" button in the Content Advisor section of the screen.
  7. Click OK to close the Internet Options window.
  8. Close your browser and reopen it.
Try logging in to My Account again. You should be able to access your list of checked out items, holds, etc.

Why Can't I Connect to My Account?
  • A link to My Account is located at the top of any library catalog page.
  • If you entered your library card number incorrectly you will have a problem connecting to My Account. Make sure you are following the help instructions.
  • If you haven't used your library card to check out materials recently, your card may have expired. To renew the card you will need present a valid photo ID at the Circulation Desk of any Poudre River Public Library.
  • Content Advisor in Internet Explorer must be disabled.

Why Can't I Login to OverDrive eBooks?

If you haven't used your library card to check out materials recently, your card may have expired. To renew the card you will need present a valid photo ID at the Circulation Desk of any Poudre River Public Library.

If you have recently changed your library card number, you will not be able to access your Overdrive account. To have Overdrive transfer your holds to your new library card number, fill out the form at http://overdrive.com.

Why Can't I Connect to the Library Databases?
  • From home or work you will need a valid library card to login to the library's licensed subscription Databases. Enter your Last Name and the barcode number from your library card just as if you were logging into My Account.
  • You must use the links on the database page to connect to the databases. You can bookmark the database page, but a bookmark to the database itself will not work.
  • If you entered your library card number incorrectly you will have a problem connecting to the Library Databases.
  • If you haven't used your library card to check out materials recently, your card may have expired. To renew the card you will need present valid photo ID at the Circulation Desk of any Poudre River Public Library.
  • Not all resources are available to remote users. Those marked with a House button on the database page are available from computers outside the library; those marked with a Book button are available only on computers in the library.
