You can
apply for a temporary library card online. A
temporary card is active for 30 days and will allow you to:
- Place holds
- Access selected eResources
Upgrading to or getting a permanent card is easy.
Just visit any of the 3 libraries, (Old Town, Harmony, or Council Tree), in the Poudre River Public Library District and bring a current/valid photo ID and proof of a local address.
Acceptable photo IDs:
- Driver's license, provisional license, international license or student license
- ID card from the Department of Motor Vehicles
- Alien Registration Card
- Military or school identification, or a passport. It must be current and valid
Acceptable proof of current local address:
- Driver's license, provisional license, international license or student license
- ID card from the Department of Motor Vehicles
- Utility deposit receipt or bill
- Voter registration
- Official rent receipt or rental
- Postmarked mail with your name on it
Children under the age of 12, with no current school ID, must have a parent or legal guardian present to sign their card. Parents/Guardians are financially responsible for their child's account and for the selection and use of resources by their minor children.
About your Library Card:
- The first card is free. Replacements are $1.00
- Your card expires every two years. Present a current/valid ID and proof of address to renew (see lists above). You will keep your barcode number.
- Treat your card as you would a credit card; report a lost or stolen card immediately.
- Temporary and out-of-state residents may obtain a library card. Ask at the Checkout Desk for information.
We honor cards from other Colorado public libraries as part of the Colorado Library Card (CLC) project. A card from the Poudre River Public Library District will be issued with proof of address to these card holders.
