Matt Schild, Vice-President
An active member of Fort Collins' literary community, Matt currently serves on the Fort Collins Reads executive committee. He also founded OpenSpace FoCo, a quarterly event that showcases literature, poetry, and music.
Matt believes public libraries and access to information and meeting spaces is an essential part of any functioning community. He's committed to helping strengthen the Poudre River Public Library District so it can serve the changing and diverse needs of the community. As a Board member, Matt is excited to help discover new directions for the Library District to serve its constituents, especially as technology evolves and changes the role the libraries play within the community.
Matt's career includes years of hands-on copywriting, digital marketing, and business strategy experience. As a marketing professional, he stresses the importance of message and communication as he helps businesses and nonprofit organizations refine their story and find their voice. He also leverages a work history that spans reporting for entertainment and pop-cultural touchstones (TV Guide and The A.V Club) and special-interest titles (Gannett's Military Times).
