Requirements for Connecting to Library Services (from Home or Work)

Java, JavaScript, and cookies are the default settings in your browser. If you have disabled them, you must change your configuration before attempting to connect to a database or My Account.

Recommended screen resolution is 1024 x 768.


Recommended Browsers

The library recommends using a modern browser capable of supporting current Web standards. While you can use some older browsers, use of a modern browser will help you take advantage of all the capabilities for sophisticated presentation and functionality found in powerful Web-based applications such as the library catalog.


How to Disable Content Advisor in Internet Explorer

If you cannot login to My Account (you click on a link and get kicked back to the login screen) often the problem is that the Content Advisor in Internet Explorer is Enabled. The following steps will allow you to disable the Internet Explorer Content Advisor.

  1. Open your Internet Explorer (IE) browser.
  2. From the gray menu bar click Tools.
  3. Choose Internet Options...
  4. Click on the gray Content tab.
  5. Under the section "Content Advisor" click on the "Disable" button .
  6. If you are prompted for a password, you will need to type the password. When you have successfully disabled the Content Advisor, you will see an "Enable" button in the Content Advisor section of the screen.
  7. Click OK to close the Internet Options window.
  8. Close your browser and reopen it.

Try logging in to My Account again. You should be able to access your list of checked out items, holds, etc.

If you haven't used your library card to check out materials recently, your card may have expired. To renew the card you will need present a valid photo ID at the Circulation Desk of any Poudre River Public Library.

If you have recently changed your library card number, you will not be able to access your Overdrive account. To have Overdrive transfer your holds to your new library card number, fill out the form at http://overdrive.com.

You need to enable your browser to accept per-session cookies in order to access certain functions in the catalog. Combined with SSL (Secure Socket Layer) session encryption, Cookies help insure the security of your personal information while interacting with the library catalog. You will need cookies enabled to use:

How to Enable Cookies in Internet Explorer
  1. Open your Internet Explorer (IE) browser.
  2. From the gray menu bar click Tools.
  3. Choose Internet Options.
  4. Click on the gray Privacy tab.
  5. Move the slider to a privacy setting of Medium High or lower.
  6. Click OK to close the Internet Options window.
  7. Close your browser and reopen it.
How to Enable Cookies in Mozilla Firefox
  1. Open your Firefox browser.
  2. From the gray menu bar click Tools.
  3. Choose Options.
  4. Click on the Privacy button.
  5. Under Cookies make sure to check the box Accept cookies from sites.
  6. Click OK to close the Options window.
  7. Close your browser and reopen it.

Once you have changed your browser settings try logging in to My Account or the database again.
