Imaginantes

2017 Workshop | Outreach

The IMAGINANTES Bilingual Youth Workshop is a unique week-long program offered during the summer that specifically reaches out to migrant youth, ages 13 to 17, who come from diverse families and is offered free of charge.

Each year, IMAGINANTES focuses on a mode of artistic and personal expression such as art, illustration, acting, music or videography to engage students in these activities in close collaboration with entrepreneurs, authors, scholars and artists. Through interactive presentations, field trips to cultural institutions, hands-on group projects, and a closing presentation and ceremony, participants learn about their heritage while they are encouraged to express themselves about issues facing them, and to experience a sense of personal accomplishment and recognition.
