Community Computer Classes

Classes @ Library | Digital Literacy | Community Outreach

The Poudre River Public Library District and Community Outreach offer access to computers and computer classes around the district. These services are also offered in Spanish and are free.

Classes are offered year round in different locations and are open for everybody; from those interested in learning the very basics of a computer, to those who may want to explore more advanced options such as Microsoft Office. For more information, please call 970-416-2818.

New to Computers: for Beginners

Are you interested in learning the very basics of a computer? Come to this series of four classes and feel comfortable using the mouse, the touchpad and the keyboard while navigating in Windows and beginning Internet browsing. No experience needed.

These classes offer beginning and hands-on training of the basic components of computers, Microsoft Office, Internet searching, social media and security online.

Internet Searching

Tired of wandering through thousands of sites every time you surf the Web? Let the pros teach you how to use subject directories and search engines to search more easily and effectively. Computer Comfort class is strongly recommended before taking this class if you are new to computers.

Online Job Search

With this session you will learn different tools to work efficiently while searching for jobs online. You will get guides to write your resume and maintain it updated, as well as the steps to follow up a job application.

Microsoft Office 2010

Learn how to use Microsoft Office to write letters, papers, resumes and much more -all the basics of work processing with Microsoft Word, as well as creating spreadsheets and learning basic formatting skills with Microsoft Excel. Create professional presentations with PowerPoint and much more.

iPhone & iPad

Are you new in the world of these smart devices? Besides basic usage, you will also learn how to download applications, games, books, music, among many other things. Come to this series and turn your phone or tablet into your personal assistant!

Would you like to get your own Facebook account? Are you interested in making video-calls around the world for free? Do you want to be part of Twitter, LinkedIn, create your own blog or perhaps you would simply like to understand what's all this about? Come to these classes and get connected at the same time that you learn about privacy and security in the world of social media.

Satellite Classes

In addition to the classes listed above, Satellite Classes provide a series of four classes to small groups of 4 to 6 participants with flexible themes, locations, days and times.

Classes can be provided in English or Spanish and the content is defined between the participants and instructor. We will bring all necessary material as well as computers and internet connection. For more information contact our office at (970) 416-2818.
