How to Place a Hold

  1. Using the library catalog, search for an item by its title, keyword, author, or subject.
  2. Once you find the item you are looking for, click on the title of the item (which should appear in blue underlined text), and you will see a page containing more specific information about the item.

  3. Click the "place hold" button next to the checkmark icon toward the top left of the page just above the title of the item you selected.

  4. Login with your last name and complete library card number and click submit.
  5. On the next page select which library you would like to pick up the item. Be sure to log out of your library account when you are finished.
  6. Once the item becomes available you will receive a call or an email notification. It will be held for one week at your requested pickup location. To check out the item be sure to bring the card you used to place the item on hold.
